1. Does my child need pads, helmet, and wrist guards?
All students are required to wear pads, helmets, and wrist guards during the skateboarding workshops. We can provide these pads, helmets, and wrist guards if the child doesn't have any of their own.
2. Does my child need their own skateboard and surfboard?
No, we can provide a skateboard and skateboard to use during the lessons.
3. What should my child wear?
We will be skateboarding in the morning and surfing in the afternoon. If your child wants to wear their bathing suit underneath their clothes, they won't need to change into them later, but they are welcome to change in the restrooms. They can put their clothes back over their bathing suits for pickup, or they can bring a change of clothes and change at the shop.
3. Do you have equipment for purchase?
We sell surfboards, skateboards, and equipment at our shop located at 3401 Padre Blvd., South Padre Island, TX 78597.
4. Is the camp good for beginners?
For sure! Our instructors have over 15 years of experience working with children and adults of all levels and abilities. Your child does not need any skateboard or surfing experience to join.
5. Do you provide snacks/lunch?
We ask that students bring their own packed lunch to ensure they are eating something they like and will be properly nourished for a long day of activities. We will have PB&J Sandwiches just in case.
6) Can someone else pick up my child from surf & skate school?
You must designate in writing who will be picking your child up from the shop.
7) What if it rains?
We will do our best to work around the rain safely by adjusting our schedule if needed, finding covered areas for our lessons, or using balance trainers and learning through training videos in the shop.
8) What is the student to instructor ratio?
There will be up to 5 students per class with 1-2 instructors at all times.
